Caelan Doris Secures Spot in Irish Squad But Joe McCarthy Omitted
Returning manager Andy Farrell has included skipper Caelan Doris in his Ireland team for the fall Tests, but lock McCarthy misses out.
Doris, absent from play since having a shoulder operation in early May, recently returned to provincial training, with doubts lingering if he will be ready to face New Zealand in Chicago on November 1.
Second row McCarthy, however, did not make the cut after failing to recover from the foot injury suffered during the first Lions match against the Wallabies in July.

At scrum-half, Farrell has selected Lions tourist Jamison Gibson-Park and Craig Casey, who led the national side to the summer international victories over the Lelos and the Lobos. Additionally, there is a recall for Connacht's Blade, who is preferred to teammate Murphy.
Henshaw, Bundee Aki, Garry Ringrose and McCloskey represent an veteran group of centre options. Jamie Osborne is another option in the midfield, though the 23-year-old is additionally a frontrunner to cover for the full-back at number 15.
Outside backs James Lowe, Hansen, Tommy O'Brien and Jacob Stockdale are included. The winger impressed on his national team debut during the summer with a brace each in the victories over the Lelos and Portugal.

Southern province second row Thomas Ahern, who received his first two caps in those matches, is kept in the squad, and experienced Ulster lock Iain Henderson is back after missing the summer tour.
