Devastated HK Locals Shocked as Major Inferno Destroys Apartment Buildings

Young scholar an eyewitness was among the many individuals drawn to the location of a fatal inferno that swept through significant parts of the multi-block Wang Fuk Court in the city's northern district.

A minimum of 36 individuals have perished in yesterday's destructive blaze to date, with hundreds still not located, suggesting that this figure will probably increase.

"It's a disaster," the student commented about the incident, adding that he had witnessed a deceased person being removed from the scene.

Over a thousand other people were forced to evacuate the estate as the blaze advanced, with several heading to temporary facilities that have been established to house them.

The fire is progressively being controlled, but emergency responders state they are uncertain when it will be completely extinguished.

Flames could be observed issuing from separate units as countless people watched in stillness.

"I feel heartbroken. The building contains so countless neighbours and acquaintances. I cannot comprehend what is happening any longer. See, all the apartments are just on fire. I am unsure what to do. I wish the authorities can assist us to rebuild after this."

A female resident stated that her friends live inside the building and she was remaining to discover if they succeeded to get out.

The resident noted that she had been given minimal direction from the authorities on where to find help.

Numerous local inhabitants had delivered supplies to the impacted residents - including numerous of blankets and heat packs.

Upon questioning about their feelings regarding the tragedy, locals voiced that "local administration is ineffective" and that they were "profoundly distraught".
