Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Coast
A chopper flying over a crowded California coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a line of palm trees as beachgoers watched.
Videos uploaded online show the aircraft commencing to spiral near the shoreline then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five people were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the road were hurt. Information on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
