Nottingham Forest Are Not Planning to Sack Ange Postecoglou; Alisson Sidelined; Three Lions Team Updates
Ange Postecoglou Safe - At Present
As of the early hours today, the club had no plans to fire their manager but the unpredictable nature of the club and its proprietor the chairman indicates things can change quickly.
The fans expressed their opinions on the previous day, demanding the exit of the coach who took over from an East Midlands hero and it is challenging to turn the tide once that happens.
The Australian is Marinakis’ man, the club chief having selected him long before the previous manager was dismissed. Everyone at Forest expected a time of adjustment but to be without a victory in six games and suffering defeats at home to Sunderland and Midtjylland were not part of the thoughts when he joined recently.
The Australian was intended to alter the approach but he has his way of playing, which is distinctly unlike to his forerunner, so there is an understanding that adjustments require patience. Tolerance, however, is not a quality often observed at the club. The next three Premier League games are against Newcastle, Chelsea and Bournemouth, so things are not going to get easier for Postecoglou.
Liverpool's Keeper Injured for Liverpool
The Liverpool manager has been speaking:
“The goalkeeper is absent from the team tomorrow and he will not go to Brazil for the national team matches. The forward is going to train again this afternoon, we will assess where he is. The same can be said for the winger. It hinges on how quickly they heal.
“I would not expect if he the keeper will be there for the initial match after the national team pause. After that things can go a bit quicker or a bit slower. It’s difficult to say. I’m not medically trained so I am unable to confirm if it is the same injury.”
Giorgi Mamardashvili will play instead of the first choice.
“I believe we’ve seen against Southampton how well he’s adjusted. We were aware we were bringing in a high-quality goalkeeper. When he made his debut that’s a way of seeing he’s adapted excellently to our club. It’s expected because he’s a skilled player. Now he can perform the role we’ve had to do so many occasions in the previous seasons covering for the main keeper, like we’ve done so many times before.”

Fan Reaction at City Ground
Events were close to extraordinary on a sobering evening, many local fans chanting: “You’re getting sacked in the morning.” Then the same fans added insult to injury, singing the title of his predecessor Nuno Espírito Santo, with several turning towards the owner observing with his own giant private television in the executive area. This resulted in a dismal spectacle.
Weekend Lookahead
Without a loss in the league since their initial match, the Cherries strong start has been halted by consecutive draws: at home to Newcastle and at Elland Road last week. The Cottagers visit the stadium on Friday, presenting Andoni Iraola’s side a good opportunity of returning to victory and climbing the table. After a turbulent summer, Iraola has aimed for stability in his lineup choices.
Behind 2-1 at Leeds, the coach made a triple change to reintroduce three regular players – key squad members – to his XI and was compensated with a equalizing goal. Bournemouth have also maintained defensive stability, conceding just once in several matches between the trips to strong opponents. The defender, often playing in an otherwise new defensive unit, has been key to the squad's cohesion. The defender received accolades from Iraola for his performances and danger at dead-ball situations – as evidenced by his headed assist for Eli Junior Kroupi’s equaliser at Elland Road.
