The Simpsons Arrives in Rocket League: Unfortunately Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
We already knew that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Fortnite, but that's not the only destination where enthusiasts can experience the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be usable in Fortnite. However, if gamers will actually want to equip it is a different matter, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle the community is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
What Fans Really Want
Although most gamers would undoubtedly love to face off behind the wheel of The Homer—the notoriously impractical automobile the patriarch designed himself in the 1991 episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. We aren't even receiving the Canyonero, the enormous truck showcased in season 10. Instead, players are getting the family's standard beat-up four-door, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Though this particular car has seen better days, it stands as an recognizable element of the show. And for players who analyze Rocket League car hitboxes, the trusty sedan shares the identical collision model as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the only cosmetic from the series arriving in Rocket League. The event will additionally feature a series of challenges to earn more rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. As detailed in a press release, the missions will task participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, collect boost pickups as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and drive a distance sufficient for picking up the ideal pastries!"
Although the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what's been announced up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is any indication, it seems fans will also receive rims with a TV showing the show's opening credits, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.
